TLDR K-30 treatment restores protein and weight in damaged hair, making it similar to healthy hair.
The study "Effects of Hydrolyzed Keratin Contained Treatment on the Repair of Damaged Hair" aimed to improve the condition of damaged hair by increasing its protein content through a newly developed hair treatment product. The protein content of hair was analyzed using the Semimicro-Kjeldahl method. The study found that after bleaching, perming, and dyeing, the weight and protein content of the hair decreased by 15-24%, confirming that hair damage occurs when hair is chemically treated. The developed product, K-30, was applied one, three, and five times on hair damaged by bleaching, perming, and dyeing. Unlike commercially available products, the protein content and weight of hair treated with K-30 increased by about 20% compared to the damaged hair. The study concluded that when damaged hair was treated with K-30, both protein content and hair weight were restored to levels similar to healthy hair.

Minoxidil with alcohol and propylene glycol was more effective than non-alcohol versions, and RU58841 worked best in a non-water-based solution. Oral finasteride showed better results than topical, despite side effects; microneedling and tretinoin worsened hair loss, and PRP was only helpful when younger.
