TLDR Hoxc genes control hair growth through Wnt signaling.
This study found that Hoxc genes play a crucial role in regulating hair follicle regeneration through the Wnt signaling pathway. The expression of Hoxc genes in mesenchymal niches controls hair follicle regeneration through Wnt signaling, and Hoxc-dependent mesenchymal niche heterogeneity drives regional hair follicle regeneration. The study provides new insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying hair follicle regeneration and suggests potential targets for therapeutic intervention in hair loss disorders.
