Homeopathy: A System of Holistic Healing as an Alternative Treatment for PCOS – A Review

Deepti Dewan, Rashmi S. Sharma, Priyanka Nim, Shweta Singh Singh
TLDR Homoeopathy may help treat PCOS, but more research is needed.
This review examined 28 articles on the use of homoeopathy as an alternative treatment for polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), including 1 randomized controlled trial (RCT), 2 non-randomized controlled trials (NRCT), 6 observational studies, 4 case series, and 9 case reports. The studies were published in peer-reviewed journals and aimed to assess the therapeutic approach, assessment criteria, and treatment outcomes of homoeopathy for PCOS. The review concluded that while homoeopathy showed potential as a treatment, more pragmatic studies with proper diagnostic criteria were needed to establish its evidence-based efficacy, particularly in RCTs.
