TLDR Herbomineral drugs effectively manage chemotherapy-induced diarrhea in oral cavity cancer patients.
The study explores the use of herbomineral drugs in managing diarrhea and other late effects of chemotherapy in a patient with oral cavity cancer. Chemotherapy, a common nonsurgical cancer treatment, often leads to side effects like diarrhea due to damage to the gastrointestinal mucosal lining. This damage reduces nutrient and water absorption, causing recurrent diarrhea. While modern medicine offers some treatments for chemotherapy-induced diarrhea, Ayurvedic medicine, specifically herbomineral drugs, provides an effective and cost-efficient alternative. The study found promising results in using these Ayurvedic treatments for managing chemotherapy-induced diarrhea.
