Hematological Analysis on Sub-Acute Oral Toxicity Study of Water Extract from Leaves of Hibiscus Rosa-Sinensis L. in BALB/c Mice

The study investigated the sub-acute oral toxicity of water extract from Hibiscus rosa-sinensis leaves on haematological parameters in BALB/c mice. Twenty-four mice were divided into four groups and administered doses of 50, 300, and 2000 mg/kg of the extract, or distilled water as a control, for 28 days. The results showed no significant toxicity effects on haematological parameters, body weight, food consumption, or behavior in the mice, indicating that the water extract of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis leaves was safe at the tested doses.
