TLDR Hair loss is not clearly linked to COVID-19 vaccination in Egyptians.
This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of hair loss in Egyptian people after receiving COVID-19 vaccinations. Conducted from January to July 2022, it included 2,000 participants aged 20-60 years from Al-Azhar University Hospitals. The most common vaccine administered was AstraZeneca (26.2%), followed by Sinopharm (23.8%) and Sinovac (20.8%). The results showed that 478 participants (23.9%) experienced hair loss post-vaccination, while 1,522 participants (76.1%) did not. The study concludes that COVID-19 vaccination should be considered a potential cause of hair loss.
