TLDR Using growth factors with microneedling is effective for treating hair loss.
The document discussed the use of growth factors in microneedling for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia (AAG). AAG is a result of hair follicles being stimulated by male hormones (testosterone) that begin to be produced in adolescence. A change in the follicular cycle, with shortening of the anagen phase, is responsible for the process of hair miniaturization. Microneedling was presented as a safe, quick, and effective method for aesthetic treatments, either by permeation of actives or by stimulating collagen and neovascularization. Microneedling can be associated with growth factors, which have a significant angiogenesis action, increasing the local microcirculatory process, activating cell division, and growth of new cells.

The conversation discusses the potential of long-chain unsaturated fatty acids, like oleic and linoleic acid, as an additional treatment for hair loss, which may inhibit the enzyme responsible for converting testosterone to DHT and promote hair growth. Users humorously suggest using oils topically and discuss other hair loss treatments, but the main focus is on the science behind fatty acids and their role in hair health.

Bee venom at 0.001% concentration was more effective than 2% minoxidil in promoting hair growth in mice, possibly due to increased growth factors and reduced inflammation. Caution is advised due to potential allergic reactions and the reliance on animal data.

A user diagnosed with AGA is seeking advice on hair loss treatments, comparing topical Minoxidil, Spironolactone, and Finasteride to oral medications and natural methods like dermastamping, PRP, and LED light. They are concerned about side effects and effectiveness, especially given their existing fatigue.
