Development and Clinical Evaluation of Green Tea Hair Tonic for Greasy Scalp Treatment

    TLDR Green tea hair tonic safely and effectively reduces scalp greasiness.
    The study developed and clinically evaluated a green tea hair tonic aimed at reducing scalp sebum. The tonic, containing 2% green tea extract, was tested on 20 volunteers over 28 days using a Sebumeter®. The formulation, which included glycerin and butylene glycol, was stable and did not cause skin irritation. Results showed a significant reduction in scalp sebum (p ≤ 0.024) at both 21 and 28 days, indicating that the green tea hair tonic was a safe and effective treatment for greasy scalp.
