Original Study: Changes in the Frontal Hairline Following Treatment for Androgenetic Alopecia

This study found that a combination of oral finasteride and topical minoxidil improved the frontal hair line in men with androgenetic alopecia more effectively than either treatment alone.

Finasteride helps treat frontal fibrosing alopecia, improving or stabilizing the condition in many patients.

In this retrospective study, oral minoxidil was found to improve the density of the frontotemporal hairline in 45.1% of patients with frontal fibrosing alopecia, with some also experiencing eyebrow and eyelash growth; however, adverse effects such as hypertrichosis were noted in 33.6% of the participants.

This study found that oral minoxidil can improve hair and eyebrow growth and increase the density of the frontotemporal hairline in patients with FFA, though adverse effects were reported by a third of participants.
