TLDR Pacing leaf extracts can promote hair growth in rabbits, but minoxidil works better.
This study investigates the potential of pacing leaf fractionation for promoting hair growth in rabbits, focusing on oxidative stress and immunity as factors in hair loss. Using 5 male rabbits, the study applied different fractions—n-hexane (FHE), ethyl acetate (FEA), and ethanol (FET)—alongside minoxidil and a control. Over 28 days, FET and FHE showed promising results with average hair growth of 2.22 mm and 2.15 mm, respectively, and hair weight of 0.19 g for both, significantly affecting hair growth (p<0.05). However, minoxidil still outperformed the fractions in terms of hair growth and weight.
