TLDR Forehead reduction surgery can fix forehead defects and improve appearance.
This case study describes a 48-year-old female patient with androgenetic alopecia (AAG) and basal cell carcinoma on the forehead, who underwent a combined surgical procedure of tumor excision and forehead reduction (frontoplasty). The surgery aimed to remove the tumor and reduce the forehead size by approximately 3 cm, improving both aesthetic appearance and achieving oncological cure. The procedure involved marking the hairline, local anesthesia, and precise surgical techniques to preserve hair follicles and ensure effective reconstruction. The study concludes that frontoplasty with pre-capillary incision is a safe and effective method for patients with increased forehead size due to AAG, offering aesthetic and curative benefits with high patient satisfaction.
