TLDR Korean men in their 20s and 30s most commonly have an inverted U-shaped hairline.
In 2011, a study was conducted on 200 Korean male adults in their 20s and 30s to determine standard hairlines and their shapes. The study found that the most common hairline shape for both age groups was the inverted U-shape, with 53.3% in their 20s and 59% in their 30s. The M-shape was more common in men in their 30s than in their 20s, with an increase of more than 10%. The study also measured the length of 11 vertical index lines from various points on the face to the hairline. The findings from this study could be useful for planning hair transplantation and postoperative evaluation. However, the study was based on photogrammetry, so there may be differences between the actual distance of a curved face and the projected distance on flat photographs.
