TLDR Flutamide effectively treated hair growth and related symptoms in women, with common side effects like dry skin and hot flushes.
The study demonstrated that flutamide, at a dosage of 250mg twice daily, was effective in treating moderate to severe hirsutism, as well as associated symptoms such as acne, seborrhoea, and androgenetic alopecia in women. The treatment lasted for one year and included 20 women, 18 of whom also received an oral contraceptive unless they had a tubal ligation. Flutamide was rapidly successful in 19 of the 20 patients, with one patient requiring additional treatment with a gonadorelin analogue. Notably, 12 of these patients had not responded to previous treatments, which included oral contraceptives, spironolactone, and dexamethasone. The most common side effects reported during the study were dry skin (70% of patients), hot flushes (27%), and increased appetite (25%).

The conversation humorously discusses an extensive and exaggerated hair loss treatment regimen, including finasteride, dutasteride, minoxidil, pyrilutamide, RU58841, and various other therapies. Despite the numerous treatments, the effectiveness is questioned, and the user humorously considers adding more minoxidil.
