TLDR Sodium fluoride can harm hair follicles, but sodium selenite can help protect them.
The study investigated the effects of sodium fluoride and sodium selenite on human hair follicles cultured in vitro. It was found that varying concentrations of sodium fluoride influenced hair follicle growth, with certain concentrations accelerating apoptosis. Conversely, sodium selenite at specific concentrations demonstrated an antagonistic effect, mitigating the toxicity induced by sodium fluoride.
