TLDR Finasteride helps prevent kidney stones, but side effects need more research.
The study found that finasteride can protect against testosterone-induced kidney stone formation by restoring crystal-cell adhesion to basal levels and neutralizing the promoting effect of testosterone on calcium oxalate crystallization. However, finasteride has side effects that must be considered for clinical use. Further investigations are needed to assess its efficacy and adverse events in kidney stone disease.
