New to Finasteride? There is a guide in the encyclopedia. Read the guide → Studysummary This study successfully applied an optimized LC-MS/MS method for accurately determining finasteride concentrations and assessing its pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers. Our plain-language summary of this paper — not a Tressless recommendation.
The study established an optimized liquid chromatography-tandem spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method for determining finasteride in 20 healthy volunteers, evaluating its pharmacokinetics. Plasma samples underwent liquid-liquid extraction, and chromatographic separation was achieved using a C18 column with a specific mobile phase. The method demonstrated excellent linearity over a concentration range of 0.5-75 ng/mL, with intra- and inter-assay precision within 7.0% and assay accuracy between 86.44% and 115.5%. The optimized LC-MS/MS method was found to be sensitive and accurate, successfully applied in the pharmacokinetic study of finasteride tablets.
