Our plain-language summary of this paper — not a Tressless recommendation.
The study established a method using reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography to determine finasteride levels in anti-calvous hair cosmetics. The analysis was conducted on an Agilent Zorbax Extend C18 column with a detection wavelength of 220 nm at 30°C, using a mobile phase of acetonitrile and KH2PO4 with a gradient model at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The results indicated a strong linear relationship (R² = 0.9990) between finasteride mass concentration (0.8-20 mg/L) and peak area. The recovery rates for finasteride ranged from 90.3% to 102.0%.
