TLDR Fetuin-A levels are higher in PCOS patients, suggesting it may play a role in the condition.
This study evaluated fetuin-A levels in 90 females, including 60 diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and 30 healthy controls, to explore its association with asprosin and various biochemical parameters. The study found significant changes in ovulation-inducing hormones LH and FSH, and increased levels of fetuin-A and asprosin in PCOS patients. While the asprosin analysis showed no significant difference between groups (P=0.115), the fetuin-A levels were significantly higher in PCOS patients compared to healthy controls (P=0.0002), suggesting a potential role of fetuin-A in PCOS pathology.
