TLDR Eyelid pilomatrixomas are rare, benign tumors that need accurate diagnosis for proper treatment.
Pilomatrixomas are rare, benign tumors originating from hair follicles, occasionally appearing on the eyelid, and often misdiagnosed due to their resemblance to other eyelid conditions. Accurate diagnosis requires clinical skills, imaging, and histopathology. This document presents a case of a 13-year-old girl with a rapidly progressing eyelid pilomatrixoma and reviews existing literature on the topic. The review synthesizes research on the etiology, differential diagnosis, treatment options, and potential complications of eyelid pilomatrixomas, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive understanding for effective management.
