Exploring Natural Ways to Maintain Keratin Production in Hair Follicles
January 2024
TLDR Coconut and castor oils may naturally boost hair growth by increasing keratin.
The research focused on understanding keratin synthesis in human hair follicles and its role in hair growth and health. The study hypothesized that oils, specifically coconut oil and castor oil, would enhance keratin synthesis, while mixtures like turmeric and baking soda, and sugar, honey, and lemon would decrease it. The experiment involved applying these natural substances to hair strands and follicles, and monitoring their length and health over seven days. The findings suggest that essential oils can effectively alter keratin growth within hair follicles and strands, potentially offering a natural way to enhance hair growth.
