TLDR Exercise and finasteride together improve ovary health in PCOS rats.
This study investigated the effects of exercise and finasteride, alone and in combination, on hormone and ovarian function in a rat model of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The results showed that the combined use of finasteride and exercise did not alter the effect of exercise on increasing insulin sensitivity and reducing androgen levels. However, there was a synergistic effect of finasteride and exercise on the morphology of the ovary as the number of atresia follicles and the thickness of the follicular membrane can be reduced. The study suggests that further research is needed to determine the effect of finasteride on the PCOS patient population.
