The study evaluated the effectiveness of eflornithine hydrochloride (EFH) loaded solid lipid microparticles (SLM) based cream for treating hirsutism, a condition causing excessive hair growth in women. Ex-vivo tests on Swiss albino female mice showed that the EFH-SLM cream was more effective in reducing hair density compared to plain EFH cream, due to better permeability. Additionally, the EFH-SLM cream resulted in fewer skin rashes and less inflammation than the plain and marketed EFH creams, suggesting it as a superior treatment option for hirsutism.
