Epidemiology of Alopecia Areata in Baqubah City, Diyala, Iraq

    TLDR Alopecia areata is more common in young males and often linked to stress.
    The study conducted at Baquba Teaching Hospital examined 100 patients with alopecia areata, revealing a higher prevalence in males (71%) aged 21-30 years. The most common manifestation was a single patchy lesion, primarily on the head, with a significant association with psychological stress (64%). Recurrence was noted in 55% of cases. The findings suggest that alopecia areata is more common in young males and is often linked to stress.
