TLDR Adding dalteparin and protamine microparticles to platelet-rich plasma can boost hair growth more than using platelet-rich plasma alone.
In the 2011 study by Takikawa M et al., the authors explored the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a therapy for alopecia, and found that adding dalteparin and protamine microparticles (D/P MPs) to PRP made the growth factors in PRP more effective. This combination resulted in additional hair growth compared to using PRP alone. This finding suggested a new area of investigation into the role of microparticles in PRP for hair growth treatments.
