TLDR Ostrich antibodies can help restore hair growth in people with a specific type of hair loss, increasing hair count by 71% on average.
In 2018, a study involving 17 subjects tested the effectiveness of ostrich antibodies to Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), 5α-reductase, and dermal bacteria in promoting hair growth for androgenic alopecia (AGA) sufferers. The subjects applied a solution containing these antibodies daily for three months. The results indicated hair regrowth in all subjects, except one with a different type of alopecia, with an average hair count increase of 71%. The study concluded that ostrich antibodies' neutralization of DHT, 5α-reductase, and certain dermal bacteria positively impacts hair growth restoration in AGA cases. However, the authors noted the need for a larger study due to the limited number of subjects.
