TLDR Mesotherapy with dutasteride improves hair growth and reduces symptoms in frontal fibrosing alopecia.
The clinical trial investigated the efficacy of mesotherapy with dutasteride for treating frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA) in 16 adult women. The study involved four monthly sessions of intralesional dutasteride injections. Significant improvements were observed in hair density and vellus hair count, along with reductions in perifollicular erythema and scaling, leading to enhanced patient satisfaction. The results showed a marked improvement in 56.3% of participants, with pruritus and pain being the most common adverse effects. The findings suggest that mesotherapy with dutasteride is a promising treatment for FFA with minimal systemic side effects.
