The study systematically reviewed and conducted a meta-analysis on the efficacy of Longdan Xiegan decoction (LDXGD) for treating eczema, analyzing 14 randomized controlled trials with 1,080 participants. The results indicated that LDXGD had a higher cure rate and total effective rate compared to western medicine (WM), with lower recurrence rates and reduced levels of interleukin-6, interleukin-8, and tumor necrosis factor after treatment. Adverse reactions were reported in 5 studies but showed no significant statistical difference. The quality of evidence was deemed low for most outcomes, except for moderate-quality evidence for the cure rate and total effective rate. The study concluded that LDXGD was more effective than conventional WM alone, but further research was needed due to the limitations in study quality.
