TLDR Combination therapy with higher concentrations of minoxidil can lead to rapid hair growth in pattern baldness with no significant side effects.
This document is a summary of a study conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of combination therapy in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia, also known as pattern baldness. The study included a total of 21 patients, 15 with male pattern baldness and 6 with female pattern baldness. The male patients were treated with a combination of finasteride tablets and 10% topical minoxidil, while the female patients were treated with a combination of saw palmetto capsules and 5% topical minoxidil. Dermaroller therapy was also used in both groups. The results showed moderate response in female pattern alopecia and good to excellent results in male pattern alopecia after 6 months of treatment. No significant side effects were observed in either group. The study concludes that combination therapy with higher concentrations of minoxidil can lead to rapid hair growth and boost patients' self-confidence.
