TLDR Combining systemic and topical treatments effectively cured a dog's skin condition.
A 10-month-old female Doberman with generalized demodicosis, characterized by alopecia and pustular lesions, was successfully treated at the Veterinary Clinical Complex in Salem. The treatment regimen included systemic administration of Ivermectin, Hydroxyzine, Enrofloxacin, and Fluralaner, along with topical therapies using benzoyl peroxide and cypermethrin shampoos. After three weeks, the dog fully recovered, as confirmed by two consecutive negative skin scrapings. This case demonstrates the effectiveness of combining systemic and topical treatments, particularly the use of isoxazoline derivatives like Fluralaner, in managing generalized canine demodicosis.
