TLDR Oreo the dog got better from skin and worm infections after treatment and cleaner living conditions.
A 7-month-old local dog named Oreo presented with skin lesions, including erythema, crusting, alopecia, hyperpigmentation, and scaling, as well as pale mucous membranes and signs of anemia. Upon examination, Oreo was diagnosed with demodicosis, caused by Demodex sp. mites, and helminthiasis, due to Ancylostoma spp and Toxocara sp worm infections. Treatment included ivermectin, antihistamines (diphenhydramine and CTM), vitamin B complex, fish oil, and sulfur soap. After 14 days, Oreo showed improvement with reduced pruritus, new hair growth, and no more diarrhea. The dog's owner was advised to maintain a clean environment to prevent re-infection.
