TLDR Prunus Tomentosa extract is effective in promoting hair growth, similar to minoxidil.
The study from 2011 examined the impact of Prunus Tomentosa Thumb Total Flavone (PTTTF) on hair growth in 50 C57BL/6 mice with alopecia, divided into five groups of ten. After 22 days, PTTTF was found to significantly promote hair growth, extend the hair growth cycle, and improve follicle maturation in a dose-dependent manner, with effects similar to the 5% minoxidil group. Pathological analysis revealed that both PTTTF and minoxidil groups had more developed skin structures and increased melanin compared to control groups. The study concluded that PTTTF is effective in stimulating hair growth, comparable to minoxidil.
