TLDR Combining fractional laser with minoxidil 5% is more effective for treating male hair loss than using minoxidil 5% alone.
This study compared the effectiveness of topical minoxidil 5% alone versus a combination of topical minoxidil 5% and fractional CO2 laser in treating male androgenetic alopecia (MAA). Conducted over one year with 40 patients, the study found significant improvements in both groups after 1 month and 3 months. However, the combination therapy group showed superior results compared to the minoxidil-only group. No serious adverse effects were reported, indicating that the combination of fractional laser and minoxidil 5% is more effective for treating male AGA than minoxidil 5% alone.
