TLDR The SketchAndCalc app is a faster and more precise method for measuring hair transplant areas than traditional grid counting.
In 2019, a study was conducted on 20 patients to compare the accuracy of the traditional grid counting method and a tablet application, SketchAndCalc, for measuring the recipient area in hair transplantation. The study found that both methods had excellent reliability, with an Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) of 1 for the SketchAndCalc application and 0.99 for the grid counting method. However, the SketchAndCalc application was found to be more accurate and precise, especially for long and narrow areas, as it could record in decimal points. The study concluded that the SketchAndCalc application is a quick, accurate, and easy-to-use method for recipient area measurement in hair transplantation.

The post discusses a theory that hair regrowth after transplant is due to the angiogenesis process (new blood vessels forming), not because the transplanted hair is unaffected by DHT. The responses highlight the established belief in 'donor dominance' (the importance of the hair's origin in transplantation) and skepticism about the new theory.
