TLDR Autologous Micrografting Technology effectively improves hair growth and is a safe, promising option for hair restoration.
The review highlights the advancements in Autologous Micrografting Technology (AMT) over the past decade as a promising regenerative treatment for androgenetic alopecia (AGA). AMT uses micrografts from healthy scalp tissue to stimulate hair follicle growth and improve scalp health, offering a biologically driven alternative to traditional treatments like minoxidil and finasteride. Studies involving up to 140 patients have shown significant improvements in hair density and thickness, with high patient satisfaction. However, most studies are small-scale and non-randomized, indicating a need for larger, controlled trials to establish efficacy and safety. The review also discusses the integration of AMT with other regenerative approaches, such as platelet-rich plasma and stem cell therapies, to enhance treatment outcomes, suggesting a shift towards more personalized and effective hair restoration strategies.
