De Novo Design Of Anti-Aging Peptides
October 2025
TLDR New peptides can delay aging and improve cell function.
The study introduces ElixirSeeker2, a computational framework designed for the de novo creation of anti-aging peptides. This tool integrates modeling of known peptides, activity scoring, and toxicity constraints to facilitate large-scale virtual screening for novel candidates. The research highlights the successful identification of lead peptides that significantly delay cellular senescence, restore cellular functions in vitro, and enhance locomotor activity in aged Caenorhabditis elegans. This work demonstrates the potential of de novo design in developing effective anti-aging interventions and sets a foundation for future biologic advancements.
