The study investigates the use of cytokinins to enhance in vitro organogenesis, biological activities, and blooming in Vitex negundo L., an endangered medicinal plant. By using Murashige and Skoog (MS) basal medium with various plant growth regulators, including 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP), diphenyl urea (DPU), thidizuron (TDZ), and meta-topolin (mT), the researchers optimized conditions for shoot regeneration. The optimal concentrations were 2.0 mg L-1 mT and 1.5 mg L-1 TDZ, achieving a 100% shoot regeneration rate after 37 days. This study highlights the potential of cytokinins in improving the biological activity and conservation of V. negundo through effective micropropagation techniques.
