TLDR Skin issues are common in lupus patients, highlighting the need for thorough skin checks.
This study on systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in Dhaka involved 116 patients and highlighted the significant prevalence of cutaneous manifestations, particularly acute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (ACLE) with malar rash (57.75%). Nonspecific lesions like alopecia (42.2%) and mucosal ulcers (30.2%) were also common. The findings emphasize the need for comprehensive dermatologic assessments in SLE patients for early diagnosis and effective management, especially in resource-limited settings.
