TLDR Good cultural practices and proper nutrition can prevent hair loss in girls.
The study examined the impact of cultural practices on hair loss among 140 Andhra and 100 Malayalam girls. It found that 83.3% of the 240 girls experienced hair loss, with a higher prevalence among Andhra girls (92.85%) compared to Malayalam girls (70%). Factors such as infrequent head baths, poor protein diets, and underweight status were linked to higher hair loss in Andhra girls. In contrast, Malayalam girls' cultural practices, including daily head baths with oil massages, egg white application, and avoiding excessive sun exposure, helped prevent hair loss. The study concluded that good cultural practices and addressing nutritional imbalances could significantly mitigate hair loss.
