TLDR Corticosteroids are safe and effective for treating Alopecia Areata.
This review evaluates the use of corticosteroids in treating Alopecia Areata (AA), a condition with autoimmune and genetic factors affecting hair follicles and nails. The study analyzed scientific articles from 2010 to 2022 across several databases, including SCIELO and Pubmed. The findings indicate that corticosteroids are both safe and effective for AA patients, as they stimulate hair follicles and extend the anagen phase of hair growth.
