TLDR The woman has scurvy and needs more vitamin C.
A 22-year-old woman with mild systemic lupus erythematosus presented with severe fatigue and malaise, along with multiple hyperkeratotic papules and "corkscrew" hairs on her arms and legs. Despite normal levels of various vitamins and minerals, her serum ascorbic acid level was low at 0.2 mg/dL. Ascorbic acid supplementation and dietary modification were recommended to address the deficiency, which is indicative of scurvy.
