TLDR TrichoSol™ effectively stabilizes various hair treatment ingredients for different durations.
The study investigates the compatibility and stability of various active ingredients in TrichoSol™, a natural vehicle for hair solutions, to support its use in compounded alopecia therapies. Stability-indicating methods were used to determine the beyond-use dates (BUDs) of these ingredients when formulated within TrichoSol™. The findings reveal that metronidazole, caffeine, and triamcinolone are stable for 180 days; 17-a-estradiol for 150 days; spironolactone for 120 days; clobetasol propionate for 90 days; and finasteride, tretinoin, and melatonin for 60 days, all at room temperature. This demonstrates that TrichoSol™ is a practical compounding vehicle for these active pharmaceutical ingredients in a liquid topical formulation, offering a tailored approach to treating different forms of alopecia.
