    This review highlights the advancements in colorimetric sensors for food safety and quality control, emphasizing their rapid response, high sensitivity, low cost, and ease of observation. Recent developments in materials science and machine learning have improved detection limits to parts per billion and enhanced resistance to interference. The integration of advanced sensor materials with portable optical devices and online platforms is expected to enable real-time data extraction and analysis, broadening the application of these sensors in food safety assurance. Despite challenges like environmental interference and limited industrial validation, these technologies show promise for effective food quality monitoring.
