Coenzyme Q10 phospholipidic vesicular formulations for treatment of androgenic alopecia:ex vivopermeation and clinical appraisal
June 2021
in “Expert Opinion on Drug Delivery”
TLDR Coenzyme Q10 vesicular formulations can potentially treat androgenic alopecia by promoting hair growth and thickness.
Coenzyme Q10 phospholipidic vesicular formulations have potential as a treatment for androgenic alopecia, according to a study. The treatment was found to be effective in promoting hair growth in patients with hair loss, indicating its potential as a hair loss treatment. Clinical trials showed significant improvement in hair growth and thickness in patients treated with CoQ10 vesicular formulations. The study found that CoQ10 formulated in transethosomes had the highest skin penetration and was more effective in treating androgenic alopecia compared to CoQ10 solution. The study suggests that loading antioxidants in nanocarriers can improve their therapeutic efficiency for treating topical diseases.
