TLDR Combining CO2 laser and Bimatoprost effectively boosts hair regrowth in Alopecia Areata.
This study conducted at Al-Azhar University Hospital evaluated the effectiveness of combining CO2 fractional laser therapy with Bimatoprost 0.03% solution for treating Alopecia Areata (AA) in 60 patients. Participants were divided into two groups: one receiving both treatments and the other receiving only laser therapy. Results showed that the combination therapy group had a significantly higher response rate (80% vs. 40%, p=0.025) with faster and more pronounced hair regrowth, improved hair density, pigmentation, and thickness. Minimal adverse effects were reported. The study concludes that this combination therapy is a safe and effective treatment for AA, suggesting further research with larger sample sizes and longer follow-up periods to confirm these findings.
