TLDR PRP improves FUE hair transplant results.
The study evaluated the clinical outcomes of hair restoration using the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) technique with and without the addition of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) in 24 patients. Half of the patients received PRP treatment pre- and post-operatively, while the other half did not. Results showed that the PRP-treated group had better graft survival, density, and overall aesthetic outcomes, with 50% reporting excellent satisfaction and 50% satisfactory results. In contrast, the non-PRP group had 25% excellent satisfaction, 58.33% satisfactory, and 16.67% poor satisfaction. The study concluded that PRP enhances the effectiveness of FUE hair transplantation by promoting graft survival and improving cosmetic results.
