Clinical Outcome and Safety Profile of Patients Undergoing Hair Transplantation Surgery by Follicular Unit Extraction

    TLDR Hair transplant surgery by Follicular Unit Extraction is mostly safe and gives good results with few complications.
    The study "Clinical Outcome and Safety Profile of Patients Underwent Hair Transplantation Surgery by Follicular Unit Extraction" conducted by Rupak Bishwokarma Ghimire in 2018 followed 152 patients who underwent hair transplant surgery for one year. The majority of patients were aged between 21-40 years. The most common complication was swelling of the forehead, experienced by 69.74% of patients, followed by temporary hair fall in 42.76% of patients. However, at the end of the year, 86.18% of patients reported excellent results, 11.84% reported satisfactory results, and only 1.97% reported poor results. The study concluded that hair transplant surgery by Follicular Unit Extraction is a relatively safe procedure with optimal results and minimal complications, beneficial for patients with androgenetic alopecia.
