Topical Application of Cinnamon (Cinnamomum Burmanii) Essential Oil Has the Same Effectiveness as Minoxidil in Increasing Hair Length and Diameter Size of Hair Follicles in Male White Wistar Rats (Rattus Norvegicus)

The study investigated the effects of cinnamon essential oil on hair growth in male white Wistar rats, comparing it to the effects of minoxidil. Conducted with 30 rats divided into three groups, the study found that the group treated with cinnamon essential oil showed an average hair length of 8.32 mm, which was greater than the 7.4 mm observed in the minoxidil group. Both treatments significantly increased hair length and follicle diameter compared to the control group. The results indicated that cinnamon essential oil was as effective as 2% minoxidil in promoting hair growth and increasing hair follicle diameter.
