TLDR A woman's Cushing's syndrome caused by adrenal cancer improved after surgery.
A rare case of ACTH-independent Cushing's syndrome due to adrenal carcinoma was reported in a 30-year-old woman who exhibited symptoms such as hypertension, centripetal obesity, rubeosis, and hair loss. Elevated cortisol levels and suppressed ACTH confirmed the diagnosis. Imaging revealed a mass in the left adrenal gland. The patient was treated with ketoconazole before undergoing a successful left adrenalectomy with regional lymphadenectomy. Eighteen months post-surgery, the patient was in excellent health with no signs of Cushing's syndrome and normal laboratory results.
