TLDR Candlenut oil and celery powder improved hair growth and could be a potential treatment for alopecia.
The study investigated the effects of a combination of candlenut oil and celery powder on hair growth in male New Zealand White rabbits, a model for alopecia. The results showed that the combination had a pH value of 6.30 and formed an oil-in-water emulsion. After 28 days of testing, the average weight and thickness of hair were 0.2458 and 1.15 cm respectively, which were better than the average positive control product X with an average weight and thickness of 0.2076 and 1 cm. Compared to the negative control, the results of weight and hair thickness were 0.0305 and 0.5 cm. The study concluded that the combination of candlenut oil and celery powder had good hair growth activity and could be used as a treatment therapy for alopecia patients.

The conversation discusses the potential of long-chain unsaturated fatty acids, like oleic and linoleic acid, as an additional treatment for hair loss, which may inhibit the enzyme responsible for converting testosterone to DHT and promote hair growth. Users humorously suggest using oils topically and discuss other hair loss treatments, but the main focus is on the science behind fatty acids and their role in hair health.
