Botulinum Toxin for the Treatment of Migraine and Other Primary Headache Disorders

Additionally, BoNTA had a long duration of action, eliminating the need for daily medication, contributing to its high safety profile and patient acceptability. However, there were differing opinions on dosages, injection areas, and patient selection, and comparative studies with standard treatments were still needed. Therefore, BoNTA was recommended only after standard treatments were exhausted and should be evaluated in specialist centers.
